Street furniture in the upwardly mobile Shoreditch Triangle had attracted more than its fair share of unwanted flyposting and graffiti. Main contractor Ringway Jacobs called Rhinoceros in to prepare and coat lightposts and street signs.
Surface preparation included the removal of all posters, stickers and adhesive residues. This was followed by a hot water wash and scrub using sugar soap. Areas with defective coatings were scraped and wire brushed back to clean metal coating or steel. Spot priming waas followed by the application of two pack aluminium primer HA Item 115. Careful masking of doors and hinges on lamp columns and to tops and bottoms of poles and around brackets is cafrried out prior to the application of the Clean Streets Low profile Anti-Flyposting texture coating. When this was cured a final coat of clear anti graffiti glaze was applied which extends the life of the coating system and adds a high level of reflective sparkle enhancing the visual impact on the streetscene. The client, Transport for London, is delighted with the result.
